People that go on rancches alone become grumpy and mad because they don't have a friend or person to talk to. Everyone needs and deserves someone to talk to and be friends with. Without that, they will become lonely, depresed and sometimes angry.
My opinion of the story is that is was a pretty boring book, except the last chapter when it started getting interesting when Lennie killed Curley's wifev and he had to run away. I thought it was pretty sad when George shot and killed Lennie by shooting him in the back of the head. I thought it was okay that George shot him though, because he had made a mistake by accidently killing Curley's wife, and Curley would have killed Lennie if George hadn't.
1. George bullies Lennie and "Used to play jokes on 'im cause he was to dumb to take care of imself"(40).
I think that George liked bulliing Lennie because it made him feel smart and good about himself. He really shouldn't feel this way because Lennie is special, and can't help being the way it is. 2. George feels ashamed of himself when he tells slim "I told Lennie to jump in the river, and I had to save him from drowning"(40). I think it is good that George finally feels ashamed of himself and realizes he should not bully Lennie anymore. George realizes that Lennie alsmost died, and he never wants that to happen again. 3. George knows Slim wont tell anyone when talking to him "You wouldn'y tell?... No, course you wouldn't"(41). I think George treats Slim as his friend, and knows that he is a trustworthy person and won't tell people what George tells him. I think George and Lennie are friends and can talk about anything with each other. 4. SLim knows George and Lennie's relationship is unusual because he thinks "It jus' seems kinda funny a cuckoo like him and a smart little guy like you travelin' together. I also think George and Lennie's relationship is unusual, because in my opinion, they are nothing alike. Also it is unusual that George continues to stay with Lennie. |
